Honestly I fucking hated him. Thought he looked stupid and I hated how he talked. His involvement in the story was contrived. Using a fishing pole as a weapon is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen, and this is coming from someone who loves fishing.

At least since there were so many characters they couldn't really focus on him out of a few scenes, though this is a problem with the actual good characters.

1. His level 7 tech is wildly unpredictable because it works off Sprigg's Doppelgang
2. He's a blue innate, which is one of the more stacked color groups already. Between Leena for early game and Marcy, Fargo, and Irenes, who the fuck cares?
3. No standout stats
4. Throws a fucking tantrum if you choose not to look for the Hydra Humour
5. What's with the dick?

Well it's because you're outright leaving Kid to her """fate""". You are all unaware that your actions don't matter and she won't die because of her pendant, but it seems cold if you don't attempt to save Kid.

But then again, if you go out of your way to save kid your stuck with more Korcha and don't get Glenn. I really hate that choice.

Branching paths aren't that strange for a jrpg, especially during the first one when you could choose to revive Crono or not. And choice to """save""" Kid hardly even matters that much in scheme of the game because Kid's pendant will save her even if you don't. And she joins back up regardless. Maybe if they focused more on a few main characters, it could have shown how impacted your relationship with her later if you did or didn't try to save her. But everyone is so flat it doesn't matter in story other than the part of the world you get to see which is all CC biggest strength.

And she joins your party again if you let her and things are fine, never brought up again. I think it is shallow way to develop that choice, which I think is a byproduct of them focusing on 40 characters. And I think if they focused on a fewer main characters it would have been better.

Actually I saw a fool who had lost the meaning of his universe and took the opportunity to shit on him for wasting his life on false ideals. It's still linear since your choices don't matter. As the other anon mentioned Kid survives whether or not you choose to save her, and even if you don't kill the Hydra some other humans will. Just another reason why Cross is inferior to its predecessor.
