There's a snes Swat Katz game. Remember that 90's show? We know it exists, and it supposedly has a release date, and reviews. Problem is, there's no source or evidence it was ever released. All the source for release date goes back to the Japanese Wikipedia, and no gaming list ever lists the game.

So what likely happened is that review copies were sent out, it was reviewed, but the show was cancelled, and they pulled the game.

Famitsu only lists two games when it supposedly came out:
https://www.famitsu.com/schedule/calendar/sfc/1995/06/-/

Nintendo of America list of snes games doesn't list it:
https://web.archive.org/web/20080920223937/http://www.nintendo.com:80/consumer/gameslist/manuals/snes_games.pdf

What's interesting is that NO ONE HAS NOTICED THIS. Swat Katz is not on any list of cancelled SNES games. No source mentions it as being cancelled. The Fan Wikis all talk about it as if it was released.

The game must have leaked online at somepoint. But it was never noted as being unreleased, people just thought it was a regular game.

The Hudson Soft game? Numerous copies are on ebay. I owned the damn game.

So. What the hell are you going on about?

These two make for some good Rule 34 material. Shame there is so little of it.

And they're considered rare. Find me a single source that mentions a release date.

Find me a single person who remembers buying it in a store.

Likely just a bunch were made, sitting in a warehouse, and someone resold them.

I can tell you for certain I bought and owned the game right around the time it came out.

Possible it was pulled after a few copies had already been sent out to stores, but I doubt it's some Cheetahmen II type situation.

just going by the overpriced listings of this cart on ebay, more than a 'bunch' were made. we'd be talking in the thousands.

I read that Ted Turner had a personal beef with the show and thought it was too violent which is why it got canned DESPITE having very good ratings and a toyline in the works.
