>you never had a father growing up to play vidya with

;_;

My dad owned a master system for a long ass time and has always enjoyed arcades. We played a ton of beat-em ups and what not as I got a little older but anything with even a little depth throws him off.

My dad came home piss fucking drunk and destroyed my copy of super mario world, and then threw my super nintendo out the window into a forest

Did you get it back? It's a SNES, it probably still worked.

Sucks about your dad tho', bro.

My pops introduced me to Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake. Hell, he even helped me pirate Quake 2, by ripping the cd and returning it back to Software Etc.

Close enough story: My grandfather taught me about Doom when I was a tyke. Loved the game until his death from cancer a couple of years ago.

My father took me to Arcades since I was 5. He only played pinballs though, while I played whatever.

Stopped taking me to them when I was 10 because he bought me a NES.

My father said the radiation of arcade machines was 2bad4meh so I had to stop going after a while. Got a N64 when I was 11.

Fuck you dad, I missed the NES and the SNES, two amazing generations of gaming because of your overprotective bullshit.

I wish my dad did that with me. You're lucky.

He only cares about certain arcade classics like Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and Q-Bert

I had a loving father my whole childhood, but he never played games with me. In fact about the only quality time stuff we did do when I was a kid involved camping, and that was only once or twice a year. He meant well; he was (and is) just a very dull man and a workaholic. He used to collect stamps but he's really been into bird watching for the last decade or so. Of course, I've been an adult longer than that, so I never really go with him or anything, seeing as we live hundreds of miles away.

Anyway, when I have a kid s/he's going to get jam sessions, family karaoke, card games, trivia, vidya, the works. I'm basically just an overgrown kid myself anyway.

Thanks asshole

I don't care if you think adding a little tenuous relation to video games makes this shitposting okay, but it isn't. Take it to fucking /r9k/ or /soc/ or don't post it at all.
