I bought a Super Famicom with an s-video cable back in 2016. The person who sold it to me was trustworthy and told me that he personally tested it and that it worked. Long story short, life got in the way and I never ended up buying any games for it at the time, so I never actually got to test it myself. Fast forward to 2018. Last week I remembered that I had it and ended up buying a few games from eBay. Today the first game arrived, so I hooked the console up and turned it on. The picture was perfect, BUT there was no sound. I checked everything and couldn't get any sound.
So, is it possible that it's just this game that's the problem? What am I supposed to do to troubleshoot and figure out what's causing the problem? I don't have the money to replace either the console or the s-video cable right now and I just spent a lot of money on games for it. Please help.

You do know you have to also hook up the red and white phono connectors because the S-Video connector itself doesn't carry sound right?

Obviously, yes. I've been using s-video for a very long time.

opening it and taking a look at the board would be a good idea.

If you're OP and not a troll, you'de be better just selling it as is/parts on ebay and buying a different one if you can't even figure out how to open it.

Talk to someone about your early onset Alzheimer's so you have the help the you need before you're dying in the street.

A diet of whole plant foods may slow or reverse it :-)

S-Video cables are $5. Buy a new one you cheap faggot. Or try a composite cable, even.

OP here. This wasn't me. I left this thread after not receiving any replies for a few hours. I have the screwdriver to open it, but it's in a box at my parents' house at the moment and I don't live close to them.
>>4958549
They're only $5 if you buy the cheap third party shit.

Fuck off.

The cheap third party shit works just fine.
>I'm not an electrician
You don't need to be an electrician to do a continuity test, just a functional human being.
