ISS on PSX was ASS

Kids down the street had that. Was fun. They liked to try to reach the map boundary but didn't it loop the edge continuously?

I thought my Twisted Metal 4 was better.

>> No.4954124

I had more fun with Twisted Metal 2, even though it was technically inferior.

>> No.4954186

>>4954124
Technically it had better controls and gameplay.

Vigilante ramming did not work, and cars were wonky pieces of shit. Weapons did not make any sense, and specials were overpowered on some cars, while laughable on others - collect green packages and gg.

Twisted metal 2 on the other hand, aside from grasshopper and monstertruck, made sense. Everything is perfectly calibrated.

Twisted metal 4 had cool cars, and nice maps, and cool weapons like remote freeze. Too bad the gameplay was mediocre. Dunno which was worse, Vigilante or twisted 4.

There was also Vigiliante 8 second offense, but it was just more annoying with salvage points. The 'points' that car collected destroying other cars stayed, meaning that they were overpowered in multiplayer. Also lackluster maps, and crappier cars.

>>4954186
I like Second Offense WAY better than the first game. If the salvage ststem bothers you, just use the cheat to max all the cars out. If you like the maps from the first game, they are all included in the second as unlockables. And I think 2 also has better cars.

I think the physics were the same and they added one weapon(flame). Not really much of improvement.
I didn't know aobut maps though, thx.

>cars
the problem with cars is that they are way unbalanced, and ugly(look at the design of the cars except of gimmick ones like garbage truck or moonbuggy. in first vigilante they were nice vintage cars like from madmax, in 2nd the are just normal and ugly like that pink one) And, the specials are even more overpowered this time. small bitch with minigun, electro limuzine= gg

All in all, the point is moot, because they both such in comparison with twisted metal 2. I think the twisted metal 4, 2nd offence had the best functionality though aside of campaing, like choosing the number of enemy cars. In vigilante it was just 2 players oposing each other in custom scenario. that sucked

Well, for one, it was on Dreamcast, with better resolution and framerate. That's a big enough improvement for me.

Pretty common for the PS1 version to be worse. When you have a system literally three times as powerful, what do you think will happen?

Although looking pretty ugly, I had fun punting my opponents across the road when I had a 4X powerup. Also, Sugar Ray.

Only played it once and something just didn't feel right about it. I love just about every other installment to the series, though. I really need to buy a 64 so I can give some of these a go again.

I'm surprised Quake II hasn't been mentioned yet.

Just judging by these, I'm giving it to the PS1 version. The N64 as weird cuts and transitions that I don't like, and the PS1 sounds more like music I would expect from a game set in the 70s.

>> No.4955885

>>4953906
I generally like the N64 version more. The remix sequenced music is more to my liking than the CD music. That being said, I noticed the additive blending from the explosions was removed in the N64 version, making them look a little less impressive.

Curiously, the N64 version has a password that makes it the only 3D game on the entire console to run at a *genuine* 640x480 resolution.

Framerate isn't great, but it gives a good insight into what N64 graphics would look like if it could run at the same resolution consistently as Voodoo 1.
