Fix'd.

Yeah many big composer did that. Hubbard specifically did many covers since the programmers requested it. And he still deserves credit for arranging them to the sid.

It's one thing to be inspired by a composition to create something and then there's plagiarism. Take that Jean Michelle Jarre track for instance. The melody... no, scratch that, he didn't change anything, it sounds exactly the same, it has been copied beat for beat. You might as well call it a SID arrangement of Zoolook. And that's just one example out of a few in this thread.
Rob Hubard is a goddamn frog.

Of course they were plagiarised, everyone knew they were plagiarised they were playing those songs on the fucking radio at the time it's not like it was a secret. Also he was working for hire and devs would just tell him what song they wanted. The point was it was played by your C64's SID chip.

I have a question. Why did Rare's music on the NES sound unlike anything else the Europeans did? Despite being worse than the SID, Euro composers carried over their arpeggios and triangle kicks, yet Rare's games sound somewhat Japanese in style. Why's that?

There was a bit of a cheeky trend of plagiarism in early video game music. Alright, Columbo, great detective work. Now how about you take your favorite song and with the tools available to you in the 80s on a C64, make it sound half as good. I'll wait. You don't have to make hundreds of other original or less "inspired" tracks like they did either, you cherry picking cunt. Just make a stupid cover the same ways they did, and continue to call greats like Yuzo and Rob hacks.
