I'm playing through Terranigma right now, and it's a travesty that the game was never localized. So far it's one of the best SNES games I've ever played.

Just got to Act 3, and now I'm sad that I can't talk to animals anymore.

If you're willing to emulator, get Assault Suit Valken translation instead of Cybernator.

The English version isn't that bad, but cuts out most of the story, and a boss fight.

Metal Max Returns, it's a post-apoc jrpg and it's really nice. Only Japanese though, so you can English version only by downloading the translated rom.

Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia, Romancing SaGa 3. All japanese, but have fan translations available.

Brain lord and Arcana often get overlooked, but I liked them. Arcana is mostly a dungeon crawl though and you better hope you like mapping things out. Brain lord is Legend of Zelda with much more frustrating puzzles.
