What are more games that locked out later parts of the game and thus the ending on the lowest difficulty? I remember this used to be an occasional thing in old games. Castlevania 64 (past Castle Center stages locked) and Megaman X8 (final boss locked) both did it but I am sure there are others. It's kind of a weird little route some games took before everything really became made for mass audiences.

Bonk's Revenge (an extremely easy though fantastic game) has "Practice" and "Intermediate" difficulties that are 1 and 4 stages respectively

Is it a weird practice to always play a game on the hardest difficulty available from the start?

Not at all. Some people like to start easy and ramp up the difficulty ay their own pace, I'd rather see what I'm up against from the beginning.

Plok almost feels like a demo version when playing it on easy mode. All of the bosses are removed (except for World1), the black and white section with Plok's grandfather is missing and so is a lot of other content

That confused the shit out of me as a kid because I'd always use the Blind Leap warp, which still took you to Plok's House on easy mode but only let you play the first flashback level, smash cutting from Plok's grandfather digging up junk to Plok talking about the amulet he just got.
