Street Fighter 2. NES Pinball. Aero Fighters 2. Bonk’s Adventure. Cosmo Gang: The Video. I’m always up to play these games. And their not on my personal “best games of all time” list we all keep in our heads. Perhaps I’m not being honest with myself?

Kinda like the frightening/comforting revelation I had in my late 20’s. That I’m not an artsy, fancy guy. I’m much happier watching Three’s Company and drinking a Coors Light at the end of the day in my bathrobe.

Well managing your air supply is one of the key challenges of the game. But if you made it to the last level you did pretty good so I wouldn't feel bad for not finishing it. Raiden Fighters Jet is my fav shmup. i also spent too long playing this one in arcades. i dont much prefer other versions. Lots of planes to choose from all with vastly different guns. Multiple paths through the game depending on how well youre doing. the medal mechanic that makes you juggle shooting and collecting medals along with not accidentally running into the medal as it gets bigger. so much fun.

It's okay. The first time I got there it was an accident because I was stuck on the asterite and trying to cobble a code for a later level.

If you ever decide to tackle it again, remember that in many ways the illusion you are going to drown making you rush and fuck up is the biggest challenge of tge game. You have the time to do everything you need to. Learn from your octopus friend, rushing gets you killed. Patience under pressure is the key to victory in that game.

-Amazing OST (JP one)
-Pretty easy game to beat in just under a few hours if you're just playing it casually, and not going for the timestones and good futures.
-Really diverse and fun visual designs and detail for all the stages. Backgrounds are fucking cool too look at. Everything is just pleasant to look at in this game. (Seriously, they make great use of the color palettes.)

Also, I'd say the PC and Mobile port is the definitive way to play. Being able to choose between the original and amazing JP OST and the (shitty) U.S. one, as well as the screen size being in 16:9, just makes it all the more better and comfortable to play. So, I'd say don't bother with the SEGA CD version.

And to think I overlooked the game as a SNES owning kid in the 90s because it looked too baby-ish. Now it's one of my favourite games of the era.
