Has anyone here beaten the second loop of Castlevania? This shit is like a cruel joke.

I beat it when I was four years old. Git gud.

Save states don't count, anon.

>> No.4922043

I beat the one in CV3, using Grant, Jap version.

>> No.4922050

>>4922043
Wouldn't be too proud of that, Japanese version is easier and Grant is OP in it.

Yes. Apart from the really cruel enemy placement in stage 4, it's not too bad.

I have never played a Castlevania game. I have a pc only, should I download the old games or are there any new ones that are good enough to introduce myself to these series?

>> No.4922076

Just play the first one for the NES

>> No.4922082

>>4922076
I dont have a nes

X68000 Castlevania is kickass.

The metroidvania ones are the best. Ignore everything prior to Sympathy for a Knight.

I beat all of the Castlevania second loops.

The extra bats and Medusa heads are only in certain sections. You ll get used to it.
Except for the flying skulls in CV3. Fuck them.

Third loop of Contra is when it picks up the pace.

All of the Castlevania are really easy to emulate. Where to start depends on what you like, if you like hardcore platformers start with 1(skip 2) and work your way up to rondo of blood if you like Metroid style games start with symphony of the night and work your way up (play 2 if you really want to)

>>4922116
It's okay to start with any, really. They have about as much plot as Mario. Circle of the Moon was my first. That screen was so dim. I do not miss front lit glossy displays.

>> No.4922159

>>4922082
what do you think emulators are for?

>> No.4922231

>>4922116
Yeah I like metroid games a lot, guess I will like these as well. There a couple of Castlevania games on steam. Should I?

>> No.4922246

>>4922150
Classic Castlevania series has a pretty involved plot and lore, actually. It's just that Mathias/Dracula is the main character, the Belmonts are interchangeable.

>Lords of Shadows 1 and 2
Literally the worst games in the franchise, no joke.

>> No.4922252

I didn't think the 2nd loop in CV1 is that hard.
I also think stage 5 and 6 are identical to the first loop, or am I wrong?

>> No.4922257

>>4922231
Play Rondo of Blood, then play Symphony of the Night. At that point you can go backwards and start with the NES trilogy, or play the GBA games if you're a dirty casual.

>> No.4923172

>>4922252
If they're not identical, they're so similar the changes aren't noticable.

Big deal, I beat it when I was 6 months old.

I beat it when I was a 4 day-old zygote. You realize how hard that is when just the A button is 90 times bigger than you are?
