What was some stupid shit that terrified you as a child?

>> No.4914739

Oh, many stupid things. The reaper in Kid Icarus. Anything that would chase me around the level and kill me if I wasn't careful (for instance, that pouncer in warioland at one of the early stages, or the lava in act two of Marble Zone in Sonic), ReDeads, of course...

>> No.4914752

>>4913918
idk if it's stupid but in the beginning of majoras mask there's that section right before you get the "you've met a terrible fate" speech which is just under the clock tower. there's a short bridge which crosses a dark stream of fast running water. that bit of water scared the hell out of me as a kid cause it's so dark and appears to be deep. like what if I was there instead of link and I fell in? surely I would drown.

those masks in Mario 2 were terrifying. To this day I still can feel my heart racing whenever they show up in the game.

>> No.4914795

The Quick Man stage in Mega Man 2. Those yellow bars terrified me, and I'd often just beat the other 7 robots and then turn the game off.
Sometimes I'd use the passcode to get straight to Wily's castle, in which case the dragon boss also terrified me and I'd turn the game off right before reaching his room.

Many, many things. Nemesis from Resident Evil, the times i died on Duke Nukem 3D and troopers would feast on my corpse (or at least i thought so; you know, the fervid imagination of a child)... Or that skeleton that appears before selecting a new game on Medievil. That fucking piece of shit scared the shitty living shit out of me, for some reason. Maybe its polygons, or when he laughed. When he moves his head like a spasm... But anyway, i was so frightened i would always mute the game and go behind the television while pressing X repeatedly in order to skip it. (Yeah, kind of autistic from my side because i could've just close my eyes instead of doing all that bullshit). But then again, countless of nightmare fuel i had back in the day.

The Gnawtys on wheels in DKC 1 that chased you. I had to get my dad to do the levels for me. The Gnawtys themselves didn’t scare me, nor did being chased in and of itself necessarily.
