Hey /vr/. Lonely Krautfag here.
Yeah you see right. this is a butchered PS1.
Some Background info:
>TL:DR I tradet it for a beer with a friend.

Sorry if my english sucks. I try to improve myself every day but i'm a lazy fuck.

A friend of mine gave it to me. He said
>"Hey Anon! you're into Retrovideoshit right?"
>"Yeah.. i guess so ?"
>"if you buy me a beer i give you my old PS1 !"
>"Huh .. okay.."
One beer and one night later, he came by, gave me a cardbord box and said
>"here she is. it's all yours now anon. I got to go! "
So he "ran" away. I opened up the box and there it was.
This Mutlilated, Butchered piece of my childhood.

Wanna see how much he raped the poor thing over the years ?
>inb4 "your desk is really dirty anon!"
Yeah i know, i paint warhammer stuff for me and my friends for a bit of cash and miniatures.

those screws dont look original at all.

Is this to facilitate disk swapping or something?

nah .. he said that he "Modded" it and sticked something on it. some plastic shit from a speaker. He removed it before he gave it to me.

HE Fucking used NORMAL Screws to hold it back together. looks like he lost the original screws....

I'm sure the console itself is fine, just swap the top case with a dead one, or find a replacement and make that thing happy again.

huh. the shielding looks intact and i can't see any rogue cables or something. So no Modchip. Too bad. A man can dream i guess.
WELL, Thank you for going on tour with me.
Maybe i should restore it. Fixing the top with some plasticard and epoxy/putty and a new paintjob.

>> No.4904634

Is it a console with the parallel port in the back? could've just cut the lid open for simple "swap disc" shit

>> No.4904637

>>4904630
I can't imagine someone who would hack up the lid like that (instead of just removing the top) would be skilled enough to do any real modding, my dude.

>> No.4904640

>>4904634
yeah it got a port on the back. sadly no audiojacks but i dont complain for one beer.

i guess you're right, but you never know.

The 75xx you have is leagues better than a 1xxx (with RCA outs) anyhow.

Patch it up and enjoy.

The better laser condition is down to a number of factors:

1. Metal parts used rather than being all plastic.
2. Relocation away from the hot power supply.
3. Automatic Gain Control used rather than manual adjustment on the 100x model.

Oh and there's the small matter of 24-bit vs 15-bit video output...

Well, he's dumb because if it still works then all you need is a replacement outer case and screws that you get from buying a broken psx on ebay for $15 including shipping.
