After starting to play this again, hot damn, this game is great. Kirby thread.

First time playing Kirby's Adventure, friend looks over my shoulder, and asks why I'm playing this "girly pink shit."

Won him over when Super Star came out and is now forever a Kirby fan.

If you can get past the title screen which looks like it was designed by a 5 yo girl

Why the fuck did he ever think Kirby was girly?

Kirby's beast as fuck, yo. Super Star stands as my personal favorite.

so what is HAL's deal for making the final bosses always a sudden tone shift into nightmare fuel?

It's like a gyigas moment for each game.

add to that, why do some games have you press up to inflate kirby, but others its pressing jump in air?

>> No.489642

I love all the Kirby games but for some reason Super Star is my least favorite. I don't really understand! Jet is my all time favorite Kirby power, but I just can't enjoy the game.

I am convinced that, if everyone were to sit down today and play this game as if it were their first time playing it, it would be everyone's favorite game. There is just no way anyone could dislike it. It's a masterpiece, in the truest sense of the word.

I don't know one person that has played and not loved Kirby. Anything Sakurai touches turns to gold.

That fucking Dark Matter Trilogy, man

Fucking 02, best boss in a Kirby game, strong contender for best in any game.

>Kirby game where he doesn't have his trademark copying ability
>have to rely on spitting stuff at monsters instead

That's still weird to me.

Although, that game became an absolute cakewalk in Kirby Super Star, where Kirby DOES have access to his copying power.

What the hell was ever the point of sleep?

When I first saw it I thought it my recover some og kirby's HP. Then when I realised it didn't do that I went on an endless quest to find its function.

The day I realised it did nothing is the day the world as I knew it changed forever.

Like those parts in Superstar where you have to do an obstacle course littered with sleep podiums.

Not retro, but Squeak Squad had an upgrade that let you do exactly this.

There's a brief period where you'll deal massive damage to enemies, but it's so brief and has such a short hitbox it's useless.

Fighting Dede without powers isn't as hard as fighting some of those mini-bosses (the ones that use wrestling moves) without powers. Just remember, you only have a minute or so to win round 2.

He hasn't done anything horrible yet. It's kinda nice to have some tripfags here, honestly. It makes it feel more like a community, which /vr/ is.

Good game. Too easy though.

>> No.493042

>>492991
Because I decided to expand my experiment. You see, being a tripfag was originally just to see what it was like. It's actually a really interesting experience. Recommended? Probably not. I decided to start using it on /vr/ and, on the very rare occasion I browse it, /vg/. Probably expanding to /lgbt/ soon, though, which is much less shitty than I expected.

I played Kirby's dreamland for the first time when I got the Kirby Collection a few weeks ago

I died SO much from having to hold up instead of tapping jump to fly, the only other kirby game I played was Super Star Ultra (I'm trying to fix this) and I too used to it
