I love Godzilla like I love a child who got into drugs real bad. I remember what it used to be, and hope it may get better in the future. So needless to say, I have flirted with picking this up. Is it any good for a die hard Toho fan?

Try the japan-only fighting game instead, Godzilla Kaiju Daikessen.

It's loads better and you can play as several different monsters.

Isn't Unleashed absolutely dreadful? The Atari games were at least good, and so was Godzilla Domination for the GBA.

Wayforward worked on the latter, and it plays a lot like that old Neo Geo beat 'em up, King of the Monsters.

Unleashed is done by Pipeworks just like the other two. Once you get the hang of the controls it's alright if you like the characters involved. Basically if you don't want to play as Biollante, King Caesar, Varan, or MechaGodzilla 1, just go play unleashed.
