Mog's dances are too good to give up for jumps imo, while Edgar's tools become worthless after a certain point. So, Edgar.

It was very overpowered in its debut game. You can solo most bosses in FF3 by having a dragoon spam jump with the blood lance.

>> No.4882019

Jump is strategically interesting at times. Like if your dragoon character is low on HP and you can’t heal well for some reason, you can try to keep them in the air indefinitely.

It’s better in FFT because elevation actually matters, though you rarely encounter extreme height mismatches.

>though you rarely encounter extreme height mismatches
Is it really any better then?

>> No.4882031

>>4882026
You can bypass obstacles and avoid targeted spells, which is unique as a combination. The game just isn’t built so that the dragoon is essential, merely useful.

The best lancer ability is ignore height. I just put that on my melee dude so I can fuck Zalmo on his tower

You want Impregnable Defense Mog on the ground, drawing as many attacks as possible from the enemy.

So Edgar.

Mog easily. Snow Muffler gives him a huge amount of defense.

>> No.4882828

mog's dances suck though, they're random and only good in the WoB where they can call attacks stronger than what you currently have in your arsenal

>> No.4884651

Anyone in ff6 can be a good dragoon with the imp equipment, 255 attack & defense all day erryday.

Freya probably has the most survivability/utility, though DS Kain has Phoenix, damage limit break and darkness.

Mah nigga. It wasn't optimal in the least, but having 4 FEIDs bouncing all over the fucking place was terrific.

>> No.4885237

>>4884651
Anyone can be a good character period once you get them to 128% MDef, attack and defense doesn't even matter, you just chip away at the bosses who can't kill you.

>> No.4885241

>>4885237
Some attacks do ignore defense and/or evasion, but they're rare.
