Retro gaming means consoles, computer games, arcade games (including pinball) and any other forms of video games on platforms launched in 1999 and earlier. With the release of the 8th generation of consoles, the Sega Dreamcast will now be considered "retro", though the remainder of the sixth generation (Xbox, PS2, GameCube) will not.

The rules are extremely console centric. You're technically correct, but at the same time there are a lot of PC games released way after 2000 that run on Win98 and they'll get deleted after rulefags lose their shit. The cutoff date (and even the wording which implies that new console generations bump the definition of "retro" here) revolves around console autism rather than around any measure of common sense or reality. They rules worded poorly and unlikely to change because we're a small board nobody gives a shit about and hiro is hiro.
