Not from my childhood, but that town where everyone is a ghost. I went there at night first and didn't realize.

I don't have a screencap of it, but when I was playing RE3 with cheats a long time ago, I was using a code that lets you use the item box anywhere. I happened to use it on the screen where you fight Nemesis, and as soon as the box screen loaded, the background was covered by a texture of Brad's model, with his destroyed face clearly visible. Really caught me off-guard.

There are actually quite a few places where using the item box in unintended locations will pull up texture maps like that.

In this mediocre FPS game Witchaven, this face will pop up completely randomly with no warning, accompanied by a loud spooky sound effect. It's not an enemy or anything, its only purpose is to jumpscare the shit out of the player.
