GP Series and Grand Prix Legends outshines it as a sim though. Awesome game, I returned playing the modified rom with 3rd person view, it doesn't feel right for me play a sim in 1st person with a controller.

F355 Challenge, San Francisco Rush 2049 and Re-volt were basically the holy trinity of racing games for me on dreamcast. I never got to try the online mode. I think it was essentially a "multiplayer time trial", where everyone raced alone and then all the players saw some video that combined them... not sure.

Probably my favorite genre on the console and haven't been as much into racing since then. If there were ever a dreamcast virtual console, I'd be forced to buy a xbox/ps again.
