Model2 emulator runs it better than MAME with force feedback and 3D acceleration. The Xbox 360 port is the recommended way to play it; the training missions are excellent to ease you into the secrets needed for high level play. Finally there's also Sega Racing Classic for PC which was recently leaked thanks to Sega's idiocy which is a bizarre official wrapper for a Model 2 emulator that runs original Daytona under the hood with all the references to the Daytona trademark ripped out.
