We had a server last year, with 1200 people from /v/. It's been reset and rewritten. I hope you guys will find this interesting once again.

Now, if you don't know, Phantasy Star Online was a mmo-esque game released on Sega Dreamcast. It's about space monsters and futuristic weapons - and epic boss battles!

It's completely free to play and download on this server. It did originally (on Dreamcast) require a subscription, but you won't have to worry about that.

Now, the controls are a little goofy, but I'll post the keyboard layout shortly. You can play with a gamepad, if you have one of those. Use "Joy2Key" to bind gamepad buttons to keyboard actions.

Changes from vanilla:

* Mag feeding is different. Mags level one stat per feed. See feed table on website.
* Non-special items are class-unlocked.
* Passworded games and solo mode has been removed.
* Rare monster appearances are much more common.
