The problem with this list is, there are plenty of other things so close to push some of these out. And some of almost retro games are much better choices, which I didnt pick out of respect. But there are also some retro games I almost replaced here.

Favorite game for fun: StarCraft, Power Stone, Virtua Fighter 3tb

Atmosphere: D2, Shen Mue, Axelay

males: demons crest firebrand was a close replacement

females: the actress from D2, Honey from Fighting Vipers, Chun Li, Taki and many other fighting game ladies

Those choices were made on the spot, so... :/

Yeah, that's obviously the big downside, and because they're hardwired you have a big chance of getting pretty gnarly ones on a used console. That said, sometimes you get lucky with a nice used Famicom, and if you have a 'close to the TV' setup it feels good man.

Disgusting.

Had a hard choice between Super Metroid and Fallout for atmosphere and story, but went with Fallout in the end. Making this reminded me I still have to create my retro video game 3x3.

SMB. My mom and older brother were dying on the first goomba and I got him on the first try :) That's what my mom tells me. I was probably literally a toddler and can't remember.

I guess I was mostly a Nintendo kid. That seems frowned upon here but oh well. It's been a blast.

There's no such thing. Even my favorite game isn't close to be perfect, it has a lot of flaws. The more i like a game, the more i start noticing things i don't like.

>Favorite male character
Carlos Olivera (he's more likeable than Leon), Nemesis (if it counts, he's a thing, not a man), Ryo Hazuki

>Favorite female character.
Claire Redfield (she's a better character than Jill, but Jill is more sexy)

>First video game
Chase HQ, i think.

You had ONE chance to put the Bongos controllers in the 'controller' part and you fucking blew it. I'm disgusted.

The only problem is it's not retro.
I used to be such a little shit that I'd insist on trying to use the bongo controller when my neighbor wanted to play melee, so that it would be no fun for him and we could play something else.

Close second for soundtrack is Spyro 2 and hitman series.
I also consider CTR near perfect but didn't want to include it twice, and I'm not sure if Warcraft 3 counts as retro.
I don't have favourite characters at all so I just stuck to the Crash franchise there.
I was too young to remember playing SNES so I don't know what my actual first game is, but the first game I remember playing is CB3 when I got my PS.
As for the favourite controller, it's actually Switch Pro Controller (beats everything I ever held in my hand), but it's not retro.
