Final Fantasy
The Legend of Zelda
StarTropics

Where do I go from here? I’m into JRPG’s... I’m on the spectrum...

Zelda & StarTropics are not RPGs. They're Action-Adventures.

Seems to me you need an introduction to some actual Action RPGs, in which case try out Crystalis and Willow.

When you say those names do you mean the games, or the series? Because if you just mean the games, the obvious answer is their sequels.

If you liked Final Fantasy, you should try the original Dragon Quest Trilogy. The difference here is that NPC dialogue is so much more important that you should write them down. I believe the third game even has an option to commit NPC lines to memory, or maybe that's just the SNES remake.

When I was young they were always in the RPG section of the magazines, usually called action RPGs. The world wasn't autistic then and generally understood what the similarities were.

Startropics & 2 are RPGs. Moving along.

That just means whoever stocked the store shelves were lazy and/or uneducated. They aren't RPGs. Never were. Never will be.

People on the autism spectrum tend to be more in to Pokeymans from my observation

Robotrek is pretty good and doesn't get brought up a whole lot.

At the time, RPG was generally used for anything that was text and story heavy. Especially if it was top down. I remember I used to love the old Epic Center section of Nintendo power and if it was anime looking and story driven, they'd put it in that section. That section led to a lot of heartbreak when a bunch of the stuff they covered would never get brought over.
