It is, yes. I've been trying to figure out a way to get a replacement control cover for it since it monitors of its chassis look extremely aesthetic with them.

It also is one of relatively few PVMs with more than one RGB line that can be used, if with a weird connector for the second one.

yep. 20 inches is too small for splitscreen stuff and if i'm playing single player stuff there's no reason not to use the 36 inch. Kind of sad when i let it go but it had a good run. Plus it would have gotten sold anyway if i ever got a multiformat or presentation monitor.

i like my new setup a lot more, it's also good for when friends come over or if i'm watching stuff on multiple screens. thinking of going crazy and getting another 36 inch for the right side to match

I was so happy getting my $0.25/hr raise I bought a new Chinese bootleg console with what I thought I'd earn in the coming months. Now it is somewhat a regret purchase with a car that died. Local gamestop would probably not take in the Chinese console/game, so I am stuck with it when I could have used the money for the Uber rides to work. I am happy playing the great games, I really love them but it is not easy when times get hard.

>>4807662
I'd imagine either the ground TV or PVM gets cooked from underneath. While it looks great, I'm just more concerned with the heat that could be generated from all I see there. I like the Sega section in the corner, your high quality stuff for the Nintendo section, and I am guessing on the left off the image is a Sony section?

>>4807914
That makes me sad as I really want a 20" BVM. Finally saved up almost a grand after a couple years for one and it is still not enough to get one out here, then my car breaks and I will still never have a BVM to enjoy my games on as that resets my savings back to 0. It is cool you have friends that also enjoy classic games. I am just left envious.

Haven't posted it in a while since the last couple of battlestation threads were kinda shit.

The setup is still as shown in the picture, however the plant has taken well to its new spot and is growing steadily. The vines are starting to "flow" down the vase and shelf the way I hoped they would.

Regrettably a month ago or so I left it in the sun for too long when I wanted to treat it to some direct sunlight. Apparently this species doesn't take to well to UV exposure for extended periods of time and some leaves developed brown spots. Luckily the defects are becoming less noticeable as ever more new leaves keep sprouting.

I actually like the contrast with the blank wall. The focus is on the setup itself, both the monitor/console and the plant. But yeah, I've thought about some simple wall decoration at some other place in the room.

Every good setup needs a plant, in my opinion. Pic related, it's one of my all-time favourite setups and the plants are what really makes it. I'll post an updated picture of my own setup once my epipremnum reaches a nice size.

I play mostly NES and GB/GBC. I use a raphnet wired adapter to use an original NES controller for both. There's no perceivable lag to me and playing GB with the NES controller is pretty comfy. I don't use VC at all, just homebrew emulators. NES emulation is flawless, while I notice a very subtle audio stutter in GBC games every once in a while, but that might just be VBA. There's probably a better emulator, but I haven't bothered checking yet as it's a really minor inconvenience.

What mods? Mine has language and frequency switches (see if you can spot 'em) but I acquired a few NOS 12mhz rated 68000 chips a while back and am planning an overclock mod when I get a chance...and pluck up the courage to do so. My Model 1 CD was bought cheap as a fixer-upper which, following quite a bit of work, is now fully operational. I also have a Model 2 CD and a number of VA4 Mega Drive 2s which are actually quite nice.

I actually bought that model 1 from ebay for super cheap cause it was listed as is/for parts. I was planning on practicing fixing it up since I'm just getting into that stuff. When I got it it worked perfectly fine, so I sent the guy a message and he said he listed it as broken because he only partially recapped it. But he modded the video encoder for sharper image quality, and replaced one of the pre amp chips with something a bit more modern so the sound is top notch.

I like how you have both the NES and N64 drawer sets, but have you also noticed that the bottom drawer in the NES unit is useless if you don't have boxes and cases for all the games you put in there? Take that black shelf and throw it on the floor. Take all the stuff you have stacked on there down. Ya'll need to into aesthetics. This shit looks like trash. Hold off on the games for a bit and buy some decent furniture, throw up some paint, etc.

>> No.4821562

I wish I took a picture of my old battlestation, it wasn't nice to look at but I really liked it. It was a small 12 inch grey TV placed on top of a futon chair with a Dreamcast, PS2 and Mega Drive as the main systems to play on. Had it until 2014 when I had to get rid of the futon and the TV stopped working. It was the only way for me to play retro games for a while, and since I didn't have a lot of money finding and playing games on it was always nice.

These days I live with other people at uni so I don't get time for battlestations but the house we live in didn't come with a TV, so a friend and I went out of the way to get a 42in plasma TV and I connected all my consoles to it. Currently have a Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PS2, PC Engine Duo, PS3, PS4 and Xbox Original connected up.

I'd say the Dreamcast gets a good use out of it, thank God for VGA keeping it crisp and clear.
