Wow, look at that PVM he’s using to test games on. Really shows how they were intended to be displayed. I bet the RGB was so clear on that set. Which is clearly a PVM.

do you PVMemers only watch films in theatre? do you never listen to non live music because you can't be present in the studio, in the same acoustic environment where the intended sonic qualities are properly conveyed? the fine arts must be a no go zone? can't have any filthy reproductions. and besides, you're all too poor to afford a framemeister let alone original art. good thing you have your ancient box of nuts and bolts to hunch over tho

Either take it to the /crt/ thread and talk about it with the people who actually know what they are talking about, or piss off.

As a PALfag, getting a cheap PVM was the best way to be sure I could play games in NTSC 60Hz.

Development of NES and SNES games was done on PCs with RGBHV.

They needed the higher resolution screens with more accurate colors to scan in sprites as bitmaps.

I don't know why you guys keep shitposting about this. There are documented pictures of Nintendo staff scanning koopas into a PC and editing the sprites on it with an RGB monitor.

Adrian Carmack, Kevin Cloud, and Paul Steed did the artwork and graphics for Quake.

Carmack was a designer/programmer.
That said, he'd have probably wanted everyone to see it on a huge CRT.

Here'a an image taken from a Sega of America recruitment video from 1995. This is the graphics artist for Comix Zone at Sega STI. He did all the art on a standard CRT computer monitor but would also have the pixel art fed through a CRT TV to get an idea of what the character sprite would look like on a typical consumer television.

You guys do know that every translation is an interpretation of the original and doesn't present an authentic vision? Almost like those CRT monitors don't really matter.
