This game is cool as shit please talk about it, I only heard about it recently. I bought an ogre for my first new herc after starting a hard campaign and I only had a couple thousand credits left over to get a new bioderm for it. I spent the last few hundred credits I had VR training its energy and piloting skills so I think it'll be fine.

I'm doing the first mission I could choose after the tutorial mission, where you send down to giant robots just to blow up some stupid turret and also a scary spider robot comes by and lets you totally own it too

I don't actually know how to mine but I guess I'm gonna figure it out, I don't want this shit ass corp skimming off the top with the automining stuff

My mining mission was really uneventful so I'm gonna do an assault mission that pays about as much. I sold the shadow or whatever it was and bought a sensei, also recycled the pilot of it and got a jap bioderm to put in since the guy only had 8 months left anyway

you can come back from that if you have a high enough bankroll but you're probably better off restarting. the game is pretty tough at first if you aren't on the easier difficulty settings

I've owned it since the late 90s and still never beat it on hardest

fix your color output by the way. base is 256 color or compatibility mode required iirc. I don't remember cuz I play this on my win98 machine and don't have such problems.

I started over and this time just did some mining missions, I had no idea a generic battle mission would be like 10 guys immediately surrounding you. I got my big boy with nothing but giant auto cannons and he can kill one or two guys in a single turn even if their shields up, and two ogres with just a billion lasers to help facilitate that

I have a million dollars now from doing easy mining missions so I think I'm gonna get a second sensei for scoutting and sell my stupid remora for maybe another giant, I haven't decided yet.

because it's kind of annoying to get it to run properly and even when it runs right I still get weird rainbow vaporwave color palletes at times, but opening any windows menu like to save or load fixes it

Ah yes, /vr/ told me about this game years ago and I got it running on an old laptop with winXP. I even finished Earthsiege 1 and 2 and Starsiege to get into the lore.
