What capture card should I get? It really needs to support RGB, and composite for Famicom, and that's it pretty much. It would be nice if it was external so that I could record through my laptop in case I need to have a more portable setup.

USB3HDCAP then. Hope your laptop has USB 3.0.

Uh, do you know about anything less expensive perhaps?

No. Just emulate if you're gonna be cheap my dude.

I'm mostly gonna record Amiga demos actually, perhaps record footage of some Famicom romhacks.

If you're capturing RGB, you might as well be playing on an emulator. Save money and do that :-)

This is the correct answer, OP. It's the cheapest external capture device that can do both RGB and composite. Look for a used one if you're poor. Also, you'll need to use the Thrillness drivers for 240p RGB.

Amiga emulation sucks, at least when it comes to demoscene prods.

That's because it has very few worthwhile exclusives.

None. There's already enough cancer in the world.
