It's a fun game that can be finished pretty quickly. I recommend human/mutant parties, though you can get strong monsters if you're either really good at figuring out the meat logic or just look up a guide.


Humans' STR/AGI stats do not cap at 99, despite the display. They go up to 255, then roll back over to 0. If you want to exploit this, keep track of how much you're raising the stat past its displayed value.

The move SAW (as well as the weapon by the same name) is likely defective; it will only kill monsters with HIGHER DEF than the user's ATK. Including bosses.

Yes, it's the probably the only JRPG where you can use a nuke/chainsaw/flamethrower/uzi/shotgun as weapons.

I am biased about it so I say yes, but this is an old RPG and it was designed with the player playing in short spurts in mind so you might find the encounter rate a bit high compared to other JRPG's, even then it shouldn't take you more than 12 hours to beat it.

the HYPER was originally a "hadouhou". So yeah definitely talking SaGa.
