The one you hate.

I've just started playing Super Mario RPG for the first time. I'm not one to care about "aged" games (not that this is a thing), but this game hasn't aged. The style of graphics look like something that could be on the switch or 3ds even to this day. It's a bit more fun to me as it has the timing mechanic and alleviates the "menu boredom" most rpg give me personally. I'd say it's never been hugely popular as other mario games, but SMRPG has stood the test of time.

Most of the first party ones.

Time isn't a sentient, thinking individual that can judge video games on its own. Fuck time, it's overrated.

Certainly not the Mana games. Out of all the big RPG's - Chrono, FF6 and Mario RPG are still good.
The platformers faired better, Mario World 1 and 2 and DKC2 for eg, Then you've got action platformers like Contra, Mega Man and Demon's Crest that are all still pretty good.

Game design practises and mechanics age though, mandatory grinding in a JRPG for eg doesn't hold up these days, and in fact hasn't really been acceptable since the mid to late 90s.
Writing quality improves too - there are many facits of video games that do age as the medium evolves over time.

I actually agree with the mana games. I'm playing secret of mana for the first time on the snes classic and I find the combat has aged poorly, the game can be unbalanced at times until you obtain magic. Definitely an amazing game of its time, but it aged like crap.

I rented it back then.
I couldn't figure out what to do or where to go, and hated it. Absolutely hated it. It was the first game that I ever experienced where everyone liked it but me.
