Am I the only one who used my actual initials? I lived in a small community so it actually felt good to be recognised for your top scores. You'd go to school one day and somebody would come up to you and say "Hey is that your highscore on the Mappy cab?" and you'd meet a new friend. I can't see much of a benefit for spelling ASS or whatever in a larger community either. I'm sure everybody and their dad thought that was the funniest shit and did it too.

Some PC Engine games on HuCard allowed you to use the CD addon's backup RAM for hiscores which is pretty cool, unfortunately no Genesis/MD cart games can do this with the Sega/Mega CD. This alone is also why I think Devil's Crush is far superior to the MD port.

Yep, those were the good old days alright. You just wandered around and tried out different games or stuck to one game until you used up all your tokens. It really was a magical place as a child, it fit the name and theme so well with it's dimly lit dungeon-like appearance, the mixture of all the sounds and the lights coming from the monitors just gave it a great overall atmosphere.
