I want to make a chart to collect all the retro jrpgs. Maybe is too ambitious. Generally the tables that I see around here are too opinionated. Give me a hand /vr/ with some names.

Good thread of /vr/ charts >>/vr/thread/S4114553

This is a pretty subjective list. It's also missing a lot of 3D JRPGs.

For example, Parasite Eve, Grandia and FFIX for PS1, and Skies of Arcadia for Dreamcast. I'm sure you're missing more, especially if you want to collect 'all' retro JRPGs in which case you're literally missing hundreds.

>>4771784
Crystal is on there, which is the best retro Pokémon game. Maybe R/B also belong on there but I'm satisfied with just Crystal.

As long as we're talking about charts we WANT to make, I was thinking of doing one for Nintendo systems from NES all the way to Wii. Simply listing 10 recommended games for each system beyond what you usually see, so no marios, zeldas, metroids, etc.
How receptive would y'all be to that?

Never been big into JRPGs but I played the first Dragon Quest (Warrior) while I was recovering surgery a few months ago and really enjoyed the experience.

Almost finished DQII, and then I'm thinking about trying the first Final Fantasy - just have a question about the later Famicom ones that never got released in the West.

Are there good translation patches out there? I'm worried that they're gonna be full of vintage memes and 'translator's note:"keikaku" means "plan"' stuff.

I know there were official translations released later on for the Playstation and other systems, it's a shame that it seems nobody has just used that text for the Nes/Famicom versions.

Regardless, you''d have a hard time truly understanding anime unless you knew about Betty Boop's relationship to it.

Try the translations by Chaos Rush. From what I've heard, they are really good and faithful to later Final Fantasy releases when it comes to naming of things such as spells, equipment, and so on.
