Does anyone know a reliable place to get controllers? Every n64 controller I’ve bought has been a disaster and I don’t really feel like wasting more money on controllers I don’t know work.

Buy the Kitsch-Bent gears, stick and bowl. Sand a little bit the flash part of the plastic, open a little bit the hole of the bowl, so the gears will rotate easily and fast and buy a silicon lubricant spray so everything is smooth.

It'll be like new.

I got nearly all my N64 controllers in Japan and they were all cheap and in good condition. You'll pay several times the going rate if you buy online but even then and with proxy and shipping charges you'll get them cheaper than ebay and they'll be in much better condition.

The n64 joystick design works well, despite the fact that it wears out.
The replacement parts are lower quality. They can fix a ruined stick, but it will never be as good as new.

It's not 100%, I agree, but it's about 90~95%.

Of course, if you care to sand the flash parts, wide the bowl hole where the gears locks in and lubricate everything with silicon lubricant spray.

The stick, bowl, and gears are not exactly the same dimensions as the originals. Even after adjustment.
The end result is not that great. More like 80-85%. Still way better than the other aftermarket options, though.

What did they mean by this?

Kidding aside this is the best option unless you can try one locally.

What are some good wireless controllers? I just got a new dog and I'm a bit wary to use stuff with wires and risking him tugging on them and having the console fall or stuff like that.

I'm mainly looking for PS1 and SNES but suggestions for other systems would be nice for the future.

Airstyle Wireless for PS1/PS2.
Good luck finding one though.

It's almost become a meme, but the retro fighters one is actually damn decent. The stick is great. Maybe not new N64 controller good, but 90-95% as good.

This but dont bother with the lube. I found that it worsened the sticks (didnt make them tight enough).

Maybe its just my preference, or maybe im just retarded.

I had a wireless barracuda for ps1. The infra-red didn't work if you weren't direcly in line with the sensor. And it drained the batteries after 6 hours or so.

You could always play your ps1 games with a ps3.

That one looks really nice but yeah, I can't find anywhere to buy one.

>>4763076

My PS3 is one of the later models that can't play every PS1/2 game.

Doesn't it not work with memory paks and the transfer pak?

I was going to get one but I don't want to have to pay through paypal. I'll wait until it's available on third party sites.
