Personally I think it will be released, Fonzie is a dick but he's also a control freak. so a potential lawsuit would probably make him resort to suicide.
No, the game will be released. but like Pier Solar it will be underwhelming and not very fun and released years after the original deadline.

it might be released but way beyond current schedule (MD 30th anniversary).
Fonzie is litteraly alone now (PS was a teamwork)
Datenmeister (which domain and homepage was bought and setup by Fonzie) has been dropped and most probably will be replaced by an FPGA.
This implies a massive rework, music is already known to be altered (without GM303 permission btw).
Fonzie isn't an optimization genius, he had help from another person on Datenmeister (OB1).
No one is willing to work with Fonzie (new or former WM), because he's now infamous for not paying. Last person to help was Stef from Gens emu about FPGA switch, but he refused to commit more.

No but they're pulling some incredibly shady shit. The game marketed itself heavily on the use of some special chip made just for it and now suddenly they can't use the chip yet claim the game won't be altered in a significant way to compensate. Fonzie seriously needs to either hire a guy for PR or stop being a lazy cunt and give updates every few weeks he did the same crap with Pier Solar and it's frustrating.

>> No.4763532

There's hardly any real information on the game itself. If Pier Solar wasn't a thing I'd think this was some scam from the very start since we got at most what ten seconds of real gameplay footage in that trailer, two or three screenshots, and about a minute of some songs from the soundtrack? That little for a game that's supposedly been in development for at least four years is suspicious especially if it's using some revolutionary new hardware to push the Genesis to its absolute limit. Most people would be proud and show off as much as possible before release to garner hype but then again Fonzie probably is aware when it comes to homebrew people know it's either throw money at it now or pay out the ass from scalpers on ebay later.

I put 50 bucks toward this and their SNES game back in like, 2013. At the time I was living at home and working at McDonald's, so I don't feel like I lost too much money. I was also an original investor for Pier Solar, which was in fact a finished product. So when they launched their new site and everything, it seemed like they were much more established and that I definitely wouldn't have had to wait longer than I did for Pier Solar.

Obviously, I was wrong about the long wait. It's super annoying the way Fonzie has been handling this shit, but I'm still content to ride it out because I'd rather not have to pay 300 times the price to some scalper.

Convention org asks fonzie/wm to come, wm asks for booth price, org offers it. WM accepts.
No news for a while (not even for planning/schedule), despite numerous org attempts contacting wm.
Suddently a reply, asking org to print flyers, banner and standup.
Org accepts (with its own money).
Still no news.
The very morning of convention, org brother gets a fucking VOICE MESSAGE from Fonzie.
The message is basically "I'm too busy lol, just put anyone"
The vid is just an exagerated "go fuck yourself wm" vent, he obviously cleaned everything. But the anger was real.
note that even wm pr could not get fonzie and her message says wm will not contest the faults.

They really didn't. They just slapped an FPGA onto the Pier Solar PCB. While the FPGA's bit code that is programmed onto it is their own design, they made it sound like they were gonna produce their own ASIC chips for Paprium.
They even set up a fake site for that shit http://datensemi.com/.. Just check the sites WHOIS entry and you'll see what i mean.

At first paprika was scheduled to come out late 2015. Then 2016, Then september 2017. Then march/apil 2018. Now its supposed to come out oktober 2018.

I believe Fonzie has emotional issues. But i also believe he will release this thing at some point. If paprika is good that might save his face somehow. If its just mediocre he is done and dead in the water, as no one will ever want to work with him again.

He paid waaay before you when you still had to "invest" in an unnamed project.
So what you did was turn your real money into digital money and then use that to buy "gems" which you could then invest into either project y (genesis) or project n (snes)
Then you had to vote what kinda game you thought it should be, and the strenght of your vote depended on how many gems you invested .

I'm totally speaking out of my ass here and don't know shit about anything, but my first thought when I read that was they did it to legally protect their scam. For instance, if some guy who bought the gems (in order to fund the game) decided to sue Fonz for not delivering the product they paid for, Fonzie would just have his lawyer go to the judge and say "umm they didn't buy a game, they bought virtual gems for voting ;)))"

Granted I'm not sure that could actually hold up, but just a thought.
