>Stealth game
>the whole game has less enemies than Thief's first level

>> No.4753018

It's a tactical espionage action game stupid gaijin.

>> No.4753025

>>4753018
wouldn't the "action" part would have improved as well with more enemies to dispose of? and what/who are exactly spying to? can we also put in serious doubt the "game" portion of such slogan?

>> No.4753030

>2018
>this idiot is still making b8 threads
you've been making these specific MGS hate threads for like 2 and a half years... we get it you don't like the game. Move on with your life.

overrated games general?

>game cannot be criticized whatsoever, it needs to be perfect!
also why do you assume that all people who dislike the game are the same person? are kojima dick riders so thick that they have to think it's a conspiracy if someone doesn't like his hugely flawed games? what a fucking cult. You dismiss any critic by running to your safe space and wanting to bury dissenting opinions. The exact opposite message of that of MGS 2.

>stealth
>enemies to dispose off
The action part means the act of tactical espionage. It's just engrish.

>> No.4753068

Fucking Hyrule Castle has more guards than the entire mgs.

>> No.4753069

so is this how numales critique games nowadays? count the number of enemies in the game?

>> No.4753224

>>4753069
don't you think the number of jumping sections in platformers, or the number of circuits in racing games, or the number of dungeons in jrpgs are relevant to their genres? are you this much of a brainlet?

First MGS is pretty shit if viewed as a stealth game, one of the worst without a doubt.

But it has other strengths which make it a cool game (though not a masterpiece, its not even the best game in its own series).

>> No.4753391

>>4753260
MGS was an experiment of sorts to test out the newer console hardware. It’s more of a fully polygonal quasi-remake of Metal Gear 2 than its own unique game.

>> No.4753536

It's not really a "stealth" game so much as it is an action game where stealth is encouraged. The game isn't over if you're caught, you just get into some trouble.

>>4753069
Seems like everyone just wants everything to be super meat boy, going by how many "hard type" rom hacks exist instead of genuinely well made new games using the same engine.

>> No.4753885

best game ever

>> No.4753893

been a while since I played it but doesn't it have a difficulty option? like disabling your radar or giving you a game over the moment you're spotted?

>> No.4753916

>>4753893
>like disabling your radar

Yes.

>giving you a game over the moment you're spotted

No, but you're much less likely to survive. Bosses also gain extra patterns and better stats like speed/accuracy or faster cooldowns (health remains the same). Ninja gets some unique flashy moves and activates stealth camo more often.

>> No.4754796

>>4753893
The later games have an instant game over upon detection difficulty

The MGS is a movie meme needs to die. Yes there's a lot of cutscenes but all of them except one are entirely skippable and there's still a good six hours of game to play. It's not like a lot of games now where you spend 90% of the gameplay just holding forward while you slowly walk as two characters spout exposition dumps.

I forgot, only Mantis gets a health buff, but it's slight.

I mean, sure, you can't just cheese through objectives and safe zones (and it's easier to aim for perfect stealth, the whole mode was designed that way), but IMO it's okay to leave the alerts at maximum difficulty, part of the game's charm is dealing with the hordes of reinforcements coming through if you fuck up while the music gets super tense and you have adrenaline pumping, knowing you can't stand more than 3/4 shots with no rations to be found (and if so they help little, other than being ultra rare). Of course in those later games you can prevent alerts if you're fast enough, but you're going to stir waters in some way or another.

You would have been a lot more believable if you had bothered to use a different file name/size/format as you have done for at least the past year.
