I like this console. I have fun playing it. I always have, and I always will This board's constant barrage of hate against it is not going to change my mind. What do you have to say about that?

Sure, sure. That's what you think now. In a week we'll have you checking eBay for a Saturn, and maybe feeling a little guilty about it. A month from now the N64 will be in a closet and forgotten. This time next year you'll have thrown it out during spring cleaning. We know you. We own you. You'll hate the N64 before you even realize what happened.

>> No.4746421

I have never said that the N64 is a bad console. If i ever said something bad about it is that the console has flaws, and if you ask me i would have bought one only at the end of the life-span considering how few and expensive the games were. Of course nowadays is a must have because getting a decent third party controller with a proper button layout and a flashcart with all the games is easy.

>> No.4746447

It's not my favorite Nintendo console but it had some of my favorite games. My everdrive came in a few days ago and i've been having a blast reliving the games that don't get re-released or re-made every generation. Not to mention games I never played before. Doom 64 has been my first Doom game and I'm actually loving it, curious enough to check out others.

You're insecure about your opinons and the things you enjoy. You seek validation from an anonymous message board because you feel your own anonymity will protect you from embarrassment if people ridicule you for having your own ideas that don't align with the ones they have. Next time you start a thread, that's not bait like this one, why don't you consider using a point of conversation that isn't centralized around you but the thing(s) that you want to discuss. Unless you want to discuss yourself, but there are sites better suited for that where you can pick a cute user name so people can finally acknowledge you; the individual who is special for liking a very popular game system.

Why were there so many racing games?

Why even bother competing after Mario and Diddy?

Racing comes in forms other than kart racing. I bet you didn't know that.

Besides, despite the large number of N64 racers, the fact is almost all of them are solid and worth playing.

The controller isn't that bad. It's not like you have to hold all three grips. You either hold the middle one for a control stick game, or the left one for a D-pad game, but always the right one since it's got the buttons. The games are usually designed with this in mind, control stick games tend to not need the L button, control pad games tend to not need the Z trigger.

I guess I could see having to hold the middle one as being uncomfortable if you're one of those people who are so fat that even your fingers and hands appear to be swollen.

oh what would they know. they were only around when it was launched and bought the fucker. it seems people born in the late 90s think the n64 is the best shit ever, but I am of an opinion that kids born after 1996 are 100% fucking retarded at all levels, same retards that think sega's saturn was "awesome". such retards weren't around to experience the hype of n64 before it was launched. we were promised so much yet given so very little that it was an insult.

Things were different back then, it wasn't like the 16 bit era where games were made like bread. There was new technology, a new dimension and it took some time to perfect everything.

If you are going to cry for a year of droughts in 1996 that no one remembers and not the eventual fun it gave to people then you are a big fag with a coorporate mindset.

The N64 was a shitty console with a very small catalog of mostly ignorable games, with the small selection of masterpieces being crippled by the horror show known as early 90's 3D graphics.

The worst part is that emulation for it is absolutely dreadful, so you can't even bypass the dogshit controller without getting an inferior experience.

>> No.4750337

The best moments were certainly amazing but the drought and watching the Playstation get so many titles that most of us thought the N64 would get was brutal. Was there any reason the 64 didn't get Mega Man x4? How about Resident Evil 1? Castlevania SotN?

When you could only afford one system it was rough.

My family only ever bought games on birthdays and holidays, so the drought was never something I was fully aware of. I got a ton of mileage out of one game for months back then.

Frankly I don't want to meet the richfag who was somehow able to buy every game released each month and still want more.

People are still going to argue, shitpost, and shitfling in N64 and PS1 threads and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

For your sanity, you're better off discussing those consoles elsewhere.

for some weird reason saturn doesn't have this problem nearly as bad, though. lucky bastards.

I don't know what you like. Research the games yourself. N64 Plant Glenn on youtube is like the SNES drunk of N64 so if you want to know about a game he's probably already covered it.

Alternatively, you could just buy an everdrive and have all the games you could want.
