The shitposting in /vr/ is slightly smarter than /v/'s, but it's still bad. That said, I'm curious as to how the dialogue differs in Banjo Kazooie's Japanese version. I recall there being a wikipedia article or something describing how the humor is delivered differently.

That’s why rhyming poetry isn’t really a thing in Japanese, and why you got things like haiku and tanka instead. And it might be why a lot of Japanese songs tend to sound odd at first – the rhyming’s usually not there, although the rhythm and meter are.

I noticed the post but didn't realise until you mentioned it. Here's what I was trying to post. It's a shame the translation is so limp for the Japanese version. I guess they didn't have anyone with experience writing anything but anime-tier scripts.
