KIROV REPORTING

>> No.4733546

>Red Revolution (Soviet map 11)
>Your first encounter with Kirovs on your side
>You're happy
>Until you learn this is the worst fucking map in the history of RTS games
>Throw a first atomic bomb on the Kremlin
>Yuri will send his Kirovs at you
>You are fucked
>And your Kirovs are as useful as Wile E Coyote's umbrella when he try to stop the boulders falling at him.

Good ol' days.

Seriously why not? Released 18 years ago and a direct sequel to a very retro game.

It feels kind of weird that we're allowed to talk about games released in 2000 and up like Conker and JSR, but not a PC game released in 2000 just because PC as a platform doesn't have a definitive "release date."
Not that it matters since the original Red Alert is the best

I remember playing this on a Win98 machine, but I never knew it could run under Win95.

>I never knew it could run under Win95.
Oh yeah, those days...
Compaq Presario: 233MHz Pentium, 32 megs of RAM and an S3 Virge 3D decelerator.

>pre-order RA2 despite hearing it needed a minimum of 64 megs of RAM
>first couple missions in Allied campaign run OK
>get to first mission using a big map
>low single-digit frame rates
>"alright, guess I'll play this on the next computer then"

This rule needs to be updated. When it was written 1999 was 15 years earlier
