What's the best storage solution for Gameboy shit?

I have about 30 games that I'm trying to store in one place.

Put them in those little plastic cases that snap shut and then put those in a plastic container

Cassette tape cases with printed J cards.

Super cheap, matches the 80s feel.

The Game Boy reigned for exactly 5 months of the 80s. It's a 90s system.

I've been storing my gb/gbc/gba games in a box for a few years and having to pull each game out in order to find the one I really wanted to play is tedious.

I have a couple of old binders lying around I can finally make use of. Do you use trading card sheets to store those games?

>> No.4730936

>>4730617

They were dying by the late 90's but I still know people who used them until about 2003ish. Portable cd players were around but a bit bulky. Many people, myself included, would buy or burn a cd and then copy it onto a cassette for portability. It was better for riding a bike around until I got an mp3 player in the mid 2000's.

Yes.

Keep in mind that these don't really stay in too well. If you tip it upside down games will fall out.

>> No.4731579

>trading card sleeves
Will cause wear and fading to the labels. I stick my carts in cheap hard plastic cases and stack them in a Sterilite bin. You want to keep carts in individual cases and not simply stack them, as stacking can make the plastic swell and have permanent white streaks. Having a lot of carts in a trading card binder will probably do the same thing.

As proven by all the millions of worn, faded trading cards? What the actual fuck, man?

>As proven by all the millions of worn, faded trading cards?

Sure, if you're constantly taking the cards out and sliding them back in. Are you putting your GB carts into sleeves purely for archival purposes?

>Will cause wear and fading to the labels.
Most GB labels have a layer of protective film. It's impossible to wear them down unless you're actively trying to damage them.

>> No.4731692

>>4731678

It's not difficult at all. I didn't start using hard plastic cases completely at random. My decision to switch was as the result of trying various other methods beforehand. It's really more difficult to archive cartridges than one would think.

>> No.4731701

>>4731504
Putting them in penny sleeves beforehand can not only keep fhe dust out, but also helps keep them in.

Also, dont turn the fucking binder outside down.

It's only an issue for the top row - the other two rows fit them in quite snug. And even then it takes a rather violent shake to jostle the top row games out.

That's an ugly sticker. And also the crazy expensive model with the rtc.
I got this one. This label is a bit better. It's also half the price of the X7 and Pokemon game's RTC can be patched out. Savestates don't justify the doubled price either. Button is fine to use and doesn't justify the X5 existence either.

A brand of flashcart, you load it up with whatever ROMs you want to play (usually via a microSD card) and then you have the convenience of playing on real hardware without ever having to swap cartridges.

Ive ordered things from ali express, its a pretty legit site. Shipping is slow cause everything comes from china but if it doesnt arrive youll probably get a refund as the vendors value good feedback. Check the comments on the listing if youre worrried.

I've only had one bad experience but haven't gone back since. A seller sent me an obviously wrong item and refused to do anything about it, so I disputed the order and ali express sided with the seller. The seller even changed the listing in between my first message to him and the dispute to match the wrong item he sent, which seems like a pretty big red flag to me, and they still sided with him. So fuck them, I'm never going back.
