What does /vr/ think of a remake for this classic?

I'll be honest, haven't played it. This one of those games like Super Metroid where people only play it for nostalgia, or is it actually well designed?

As in a true remake and not just a shitty graphic remaster I think would be cool. Include unfinished stuff and balance the game better.

Its a great game your first time through blind but the game is super easy once you level up a bit and get some good weapons. Its worth a play for the atmosphere and music alone I'd say. Honestly an item randomizer would be an interesting take on the game.

Super Metroid is still a good game though?...

Is it really balanced better? I thought it just had Maria playable and some of the Saturn stuff. Honestly I've never played this version.

>> No.4719986

>>4719963
It includes a Maria that isn't a clusterfuck, but none of the Saturn content, otherwise.

Played it for the first time a few years ago and it's now my favorite game. This is coming from someone who generally finds it hard to enjoy retro games I didn't play when I was young that have outdated mechanics.

spoiler alert, every game made before 2001 is overrated and aged like milk, go back to >>>/v/ and warn the others

If it has an arranged mode that makes the game actually challenging to play I'd be for it.

Should I get this physical game on the PS1 or the Konami collections for the xb360?

>> No.4721294

>>4721272
I mean to me, if you're gonna get a physical version of the game it should always be the original. Unless maybe a port improves on some aspect like the Saturn version

Killed the Castlevania franchise.

Thanks, IGA.

>> No.4721440

Is this game really the only game /vr/ can talk about?

>> No.4721443

This fucking thread again? Really?

>> No.4721451

For what purpose? The graphics are perfect. The only part where it could be improved is the difficulty.

Do you seriously think they had made more Classicvania without SotN? I think Castlevania would be simply dead.

They made their best game too soon and couldnt keep the quality, no shit it died after SotN. They could've made a Dark Souls-like in their N64 release
