I know the spoilers yeah. I'm 34 and that shit was mega popular when I was in high school - I just never paid it any attention. The only mecha anime I've ever seen is Gundam Wing. Back then I was into Samurai X, Record of Lodoss War, DBZ... but yeah I'll give it a shot. I need to watch a metric fuckton of Gundam also

If you're gonna watch Gundam, start with the original one.
For Evangelion, watch the original TV series first, then The End of Evangelion, then the rebuilds. I recommend absorving the most you can of the original series and movie, and leave Rebuild for later. The final one hasn't came out yet anyway.

Gainax adapted some of their stuff to computers like the FM-Towns, like Nadia of the Blue Water which was voice acted by the same people as the show. It was like a new episode.

I only found out they did games because their gaming division was mentioned in the articles about that executive involved in money laundering to fund Evangelion.

I mean, Gainax did Evangelion Girlfriend of Steel that was released on PC, Playstation and Saturn, It think they also did a Mac port.
Their Princess Maker games were also ported to other system but I think not all published by Gainax. I believe the Princess Maker games on Super Famicom are by Takara.
The Rei raising sim game was also released for Dreamcast.
Gainax also released a ton of desktop theme shit for PC. I'm super nostalgic about things like that, and I regret not having bought a Nadia desktop theme CD-ROM when I had the chance. It was a bit expensive at $50 though, but it's pretty hard to find now.

The only thing people hate on Treasure for are RS and Ika. The shmups.
Here's what shmupfags don't get. There were so many shmups made, countless hundreds, that it doesn't matter.

People who appreciate Treasure do so for Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier, Dynamite Headdy, Sin and Punishment, and Ikaruga(a great game, maybe a shitty shmup but who gives a fuck?).
Treasure started out developing platform/run n gun games. That's their strong point and they deliver hands down.
I mean, think about it like this. Would we be better off without Alien Soldier?
