Myself, I've never been able to interest myself much in Amigas, JPCs, 5th gen console games in general, Doom, Quake, and pretty much any retro FPS. I also don't understand the cult of Apogee shareware titles.

I only played the Atari games because it was all I had at the time. I just can't get into them, Perhaps I am brainwashed to like stuff from Japan as all my NES stuff was branded with "made in Japan" as were the Genesis stuff I convinced my cousins to get. Even the Transformers I have were made in Japan. Now I was still fair then, as I thought a game like Mike Tyson's Punch Out was American, but I was surprised afterwards. When I got a 286 which got upgraded to a 386DX40 I started to appreciate western games thanks to the boxart to Wing Commander 2 and Ultima 7: The Black Gate. I have gone back to the many systems I had except for Atari. Their games just don't groove with me. I wish they did as the games are cheap for the system, but the systems are expensive now too.

On the contrary, I really want to get into Japanese PCs, I remember Amigas were the best cheapest way to subtitle anime, the Saturn is probably my favorite system as it has my 2nd largest amount of games I own to the 360 yet the Playstation and N64 has so much good stuff to play too (but I will admit the Jag, 3DO, CDi, etc. did not have many games that I wanted). As for retro FPS, I did get Catacomb 3D, Wolf3D, Doom, Quake, etc. as they came out as they were interestingly new, and aside from Catacomb 3D, VGA. Apogee games like Wolf3D, Raptor, and Halloween Harry really impressed me to get them. I tried all VGA games I could on my 286-12/386DX40 so Apogee has a lot to offer at the time. Most newer FPS don't really interest me as it seems like 40% of games are FPS to me, it seems like games are uninteresting unless you shoot something these days. However, I admit that may be a flawed perception..
