Sonic Adventure being the true debut of 3D Sonic is something I'm perfectly fine with, in hindsight.
Sure, a killer app Sonic game would've been good for the Saturn's sales and longevity in the West, but could it have saved it? I'm not sure. The mismanagement at both major branches of Sega at the time kind of sealed their consoles' fates.

That would have taken too long. Also, that game would not have been called Sonic Xtreme since it was by Sonic Team and not STI. If the Saturn Sonic Team game were to have come out, imho the Saturn would have to of done a lot better financially.
