They also made one of the late 2D Wario games.
Anyway, for the Nintendo games, they were told by the Nintendo guys to change many of their game mechanics. For example Nintendo demanded Epic Kirby to have unlimited hits, the original game was going to be very different.
In an ideal world, Good Feel would have 100% direction on the new Goemon and Konami/Nintendo would only fund it and maybe assist with assets and stuff.

Wario Land Shake It isn't that good, it has amazing art direction, but the game itself isn't really good when you compare it to other Wario games.
Epic Yarn and Wooly World are boring as hell (even for me and I'm a huge collectathonfag),unless they make the Goemon game with more focus on action/platforming rather than collectibles, or atleast mix the action with the rpg elements just like the snes/n64 titles, I don't want a Goemon game from them.

Again, both Epic Yarn and I assume the Wario game too were Nintendo games, so Good Feel had to accomodate to their demands. Shake it had the obligatory waggle, and Epic Yarn had the immortal thing.
I haven't played Wooly World but I've heard both positive and negative/mixed comments. But again, another Nintendo property.
I honestly wouldn't mind if a new Goemon game is watered down for casuals, I'd be happy if classic Goemon is back on track by the original devs. In an ideal world they'd have 100% creation control and would make another game like Goemon's Great Adventure with modern graphics and shit.

If good-feel did a goemon game, it could potentially look like the kind of japanese art that the games were based on, just in motion. That would be pretty cool.
