Here, we look for games from our memory and help those who look.

Starting off, I'm looking for a game for some old phony system like polystation or some other shit.
It was a racing game, among the lines of the tetris formula game where you just switch lanes, but it had pretty neat graphics - scene was a highway near a coast with ocean and palm trees. Any clues welcome.

>> No.4680867

Looking for a game with mickey mouse theme, I guess. It was a platformer, a brutally difficult, and at the end of some level, you jumped off a cliff. but it wasn't anything famous or disney branded.

>> No.4680876

I'm looking for a game that has evaded me for years, it was a computer game (circa 2002 or so) that I first thought was a Star Wars Episode 1 game but the kid playing it told me it wasn't like 500 times, It was a top down 2D game but I don't know if it was an RPG, the main character looked like a young boy and it took place in a Sci Fi like desert town, I can't find this game anywhere.

(1/3) I have a few games from my childhood that I still remember but have never tried to search for, haven't seen them discussed on the net, maybe someone can help.

All of them are NES, might be Japan only or even hacks or something weird (many of them were without the plastic part of the cartridge).

First one should be easy, its something like an RTS game, where on two sides (vertical scrolling) there are two UFOs, and as time goes by stronger and stronger units come out of them (first one was just a simple humanoid sprite), you are the bottom UFO and you move your units in order to beat the top one. Crude/simple graphics, might be an early game. I think Flight of the Valkyries was used as music.

Second game I remember very little about, and basically is summed up but what we used to call it back them - "Mario with a broomstick". I'm pretty sure it's not an official Mario game, but its a platformer (left to right), and the main character looks like Mario with black and white clothes (kinda like Hammer Mario suit from SMB3) and has somethings that's like a broomstick or hockey stick, and can use it as a weapon. That's basically I all remember.

>> No.4681165

>>4681158
(2/3) This next one is another platformer and I'm almost certain its from Japan, probably a Japan exclusive. The most notable feature of the game was that while playing, picking up stuff (I think? I might be remember wrong) let you chang into different characters - quite a lot of the actually. But I remember two - one of them was light blue with a helmet, looked something like a cartoon cop, and he had a shooting attack that were basically two projectiles, one going slightly to the top of the screen, and the other to the bottom. The next character is why I think its a Japanese game - I'm pretty sure its Kamen rider. I of course didn't knew this at the time, but the first time I saw the Kamen rider insect mask with the big red eyes, I immediately thought of this game. The sprite looked somewhat in a chibi style (big head compared to body). He had something like a stick, and when you attack, a small part of the top of the stick would shoot out like a red projectile (looking like this -> /), The only other thing I remember is that some time into the game we realized accidentally that if you hit select, you can cycle through the characters without having to pick up stuff like you normally would have to, but I think we might have unlocked a cheat or something because later we couldn't do that anymore (or maybe its progression related, I don't know).

>> No.4681170

>>4681165
(3/3) Final one (for now at least, maybe I'll think of more) is kinda hard to explain. We referred to it as Diablo/RPG Contra (I even think I remember having Contra or something similar to it in the title, obviously its not an official Konami Contra game though). You played as a dude, but the perspective was top down, the screen would move on its own diagonally (kinda like in a shmup, bottom left to top right), and you could only move him within the screen. I remember that your weapons leveled up with picking power ups, and you had different weapons I thinks (hence the Diablo/RPG part). I think you began at something like a city street, I think the pavement was green (or greenish). Also, the game had multiple endings, because I remember finishing the game with different final levels, but got them on accident. I remember a bit of one of the possible final bosses, mainly that the stage was all black (no background or anything), and he had this attack that looked like three giant missiles that would fill the whole playing area (he would go off screen during this attack), and you had to jump into small gaps between them. That's all I can think of. Maybe the main guy was blond, not sure about that though.

>>4680794
I have one that I saw as a child at a friends house briefly that his older brother was playing.

It was an N64 title with a blue giant and a jungle. That is all I remember and it's as vague as that.

Initially I thought you might have guessed it, but the more gameplay I look at the more I'm sure its not it. The guy looks nothing like I remember (I would have remembered a ponytail at least, and I'm pretty sure the "Mario" from my memory had a helmet, also his sprite was taller, while this guy is more like a square). Also, he holds the stick in a different manner, from my memory the guy holds it very similarly like you would hold a hockey stick. I even think you could change how he holds his weapons for different attacks.

I mean my memory is fuzzy so it might as well be this game (it might have been a bootleg copy with changed sprites), so who knows. I can't figure out if the spinning thing the guy from Kaiketsu Yanchamaru 3 does was also something I can remember seeing back then or not. Thanks for the suggestion though.

It was a side-scrolling platformer starring a character who looked like pic related, and I think the goal was to rescue his family who looked like different-coloured versions of him. I'm also pretty sure the main character was the mascot of a Japanese TV service or some other electronics/telecommunications company. There may have been some eggs as a weapon or collectable?

It was a very colourful and lively game and I know I'd really enjoy it if I could find it again. It had nothing to do with Tamagotchi, even though the character looks like one.

There were a few different types of battlefields (one over oceans/islands I think, but the one I remember more is a space background with what I think were pipes in the foreground). You selected a ship out of a large selection and you battled against other AI controlled ships (also picked from the list). I can't remember if you were competing for points or lives or whatever. It was a 2D sidescroller game that my dad used to emulate to play with me - probably a genesis or MAME game from what I remember, it was fairly detailed spritework. You could play as one of two characters who iirc looked sort of elfy? I believe one had a bow but I'm not sure. Both male, and I believe they had on greenish hats but again my memory is super hazy.

One thing I seem to remember well is that at some point you fight a moon, or what I thought looked like a giant flying moon.

There also might have been a level with a sidescrolling space shooter?

This is an awful description but I've been thinking about it for a bit so it cant hurt to try.

Got another memory nostalgia hit - looking for a PS1 game again featured in a EuroDemo disc (I had a lot of those, god bless UK).

I'm looking for a game which was a 2D sidescroller shooter where you played as some cyborg/robot dude. I remember the level looking very desert-like, it had a lot of tannish/brownish colors in it. On the bottom half of the screen, I think there was a crude map too. The game was a remake of an older game that had the same gameplay style but with simpler graphics. The Japanese may have been involved with it. It was floating around on my friends' computers during the same era that Windows 98 was still the craze and that 3D bumper car game was popular.

I also faintly remember a second game which was most likely from the MS-DOS era. I've been desperately trying to find it for the past decade but I only remember that there was some kind of large grid/play area on the left side of the screen with objects inside it, I think they were fruits. On the right side there was a girl on a ladder climbing up and down. I think it may have been some kind of matching game with simple object falling physics, I can't remember anything else unfortunately. It was on our Win98 back in the early 2000s and we ran it from a .PIF file

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I might as well try asking this, but I've only limited memory of it as I only had the chance to view it once and for a short time.

I saw this in a small arcade, cira mid/late July 1995 and I have ticket stubs with the date, so I know it was then.

I'm 90% sure it was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade cabinet, or if not a similar style of game.
The only bit I remember at all was a small bit of what I believe was the second level and what I THINK was a miniboss or before the actual boss itself. There was some sort of an airship or aircraft above with a frame hanging down, with lasers guns firing at you that I believe were destructible, while the turtles surfed the waves underneath on something kinda like a small silver surfboard.

There's also a five level long side scrolling beat-em-up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for the Sega Mega Drive II here in the UK that I played for a week, didn't remember the name of and could never find the existence of again. My strongest memory of that level five was the Technodrome, you fought through the level, through Krang, into a lift with enemies in it that had a pizza in the top corner of said lift and then fought Shredder. 99.9% sure it's not Turtles In Time.

That's all I remember or misremember from my 23 year old memories. I've looked at various TMNT videos on Youtube and never run across one that made me think it was the right game for either of those two. Does any of this sound familiar to any of you?

After finally remembering I can reverse image search, just watched a longplay of that bit.

The general style of the ocean and stuff is familiar, since I definitely got the impression of a "clear blue ocean" from my memories as well as how far into the distance the ocean extended, but I didn't see any large flying contraption in the longplay I watched.

The thing or boss or whatever it was in my memory and picture might even have been the bottom part of a helicopter or something, but my impression of it was that this flying machine was at least the size of a house, maybe even the general size of the Flying Battery Zone from Sonic 3&K when Sonic is grabbing onto it at the end of the previous level. Something to that effect.

One other thing worth mentioning: might have just been my sense of perception playing tricks on me or something, but I felt like the first part of the level they were going to the right, then they were going left and fighting that boss, then they were going right again, which is why I think it was only a miniboss. I also want to say it might have been 4 player, but I'm definitely not sure of that at all.

I'm looking for a game I've likely only played a bootleg of. It was a 2D game, with graphics that suggested it was NES. You couldn't jump, and falling I think killed you, so instead you climbed up and down ladders to get to these floating platforms made of bricks. Each stage was only about one screen large, so the level design was fairly simple. There was the player, an enemy that might've been just a recolor of the player, some object, and a maybe a house.
The goal was to collect the object, which would then open the house, and you had to get to the house to progress to the next level, while dodging the enemy chasing you.
I say maybe a house because I don't know what the original game would've had, because

I think I played a bootleg of it. This bootleg part comes in here where I say you played as a pikachu, and you dodged a gray pikachu while trying to get into the house where a girl pikachu was. Again, it had to be a bootleg because there's no way an NES game could've had pikachu during it's lifecycle. Alternatively, it means it wasn't an NES game, but I don't know why it would've looked that low res if that were the case.

This is one game I try to find for almost 10 years and nothing came to my mind, maybe you guys can help me out.

It was a Windows XP era game, a PC game.

I remember that it was like an Strategy/Action game, (maybe RPG? this is a fuzzy memory) that it had a pretty low poly aesthetics. It was a war game where you can control and train some kind of robots?

The most clear memory of that game that I have is where I was playing with a neighbor this game, I was controlling a two-legged unit (I think it was a OP unit and it was like pic related) who launched missiles. The robot was blue or green and the scenery was dessert.

I think there was a Skirmish mechanic where you can fight the CPU, but now sure if there was an online feature because my neighbor had no internet, his dad bought a PC disc with many games (pirated of course) on it and this was one of them.

Very low poly, robots, train units, green or blue colors and dessert stage, Windows XP. That's all I have. I hope you can help me out on this one.

I've tried for fucking years to find a hack of survival kids.

It's a pokemon hack. From the start, I think you choose between either gold or crystal. Upon waking up, the first creature you see (pretty sure its a monkey in the vanilla) is swapped for a pikachu. I discovered this hack looking for palm pilot games somewhere in the early 2000s. So far I can't even find a single other person to verify its existence, other than my brother and one dude on a forum, but he didn't supply further details that could help me remember more.

I asked this once before several years back, got an answer and now I've forgotten again.
Game.
DOS or early Windows.
Multiplayer, with players taking control of a bunch of bunnies. Hop on an opponent bunny's head and he 'splodes into a pile of blood and guts and you get 1 point on your score.
Stages were altered via a txt file.

Someone ought to remake that as an online multiplayer game. Maybe a phone ap. It's simple and fun.

For that matter, I wanna play Graal on my phone. :/

When I was a kid in the early 2000's there was this side-scrolling game that looked 8-bit and it was weird. There were different locales that you could go to and the objective was not to go directly right, but walk near these weird creature things and then when you walk over them they follow behind you. I remember there being levels with weird poles that you had to jump across. It might have been one of those shitty Popcap / flash games, but I don't think so.

I've been looking for an old game that a friend used to play when i was child (2000~) and this are the few things I remember from it:
it was 3D
Played it on PC
Sort of god simulator/ civilization building, and it was like an Aztec/tribal environment (I remember a kid and a big statue/totem with those features)
The player would move around the "world" wich was kind of a spherical surface (poorly pic related)
My friend used to play AoE II along with it, so I think it was from the same time/era.

please help me - it's one of the few old games I dont know its name, and it annoys my when I remember it.

>Top down "action rpg"
>You played as a wizard wearing blue clothes. Had a blue cone hat
>Had an overworld with stages
>The goal of each stage was to collect all these orbs. Had to get all of them up open the exit
>Game played kind of like a shmup. Your attack was a simple projectile. You could find powerups that would increase the fire rate, the amount of projectiles (spread shot etc) and damage
>You also had magic spells which were like different weapons you could switch between. I remember an ice shot that would freeze, and a rapid fire shot that would bounce off walls
>I think there were 4 'areas' total, each with their own overworld and set of stages. Once you finished all of a world's stages it would open up a boss stage

It's a PC game that I played in one of those CDs full of demos and free games.
It was about exploring a house/mansion in a first-person perspective through point and click, similar to MYST. I don't think there was an objective to it or a way to lose, it was mostly about exploring the place and seeing some puzzles. I don't remember what the graphics were like, sadly, but I don't think they were in 3D at least.

The most distinctive feature I remember is that, upon selecting the option to quit the game, you were shown a frontal view of the house/mansion in a similar way to pic related (but with better graphics) and the sky had several stars. Then the front door would be slammed shut and all the stars in the sky would fall on the ground to the sound of breaking glass, then the game really closes.

Maybe you guys will be able to help. Back in the mid or late 90's I was playing this game at my friends probably Win95/98, it had cutscene with something that looked like silicon graphics of a humanoid beast man riding some hi tech scooter in a forest, and then it cut to gameplay something like a side scrolly point and click and I remember constantly dying in the first rooms.
I know it's real, Bioforge was pretty close but that's not it

I already tried and got no answers but I'm gonna try again. It's .a strategy game on pc that would play similar to HOMM3, probably released around the same time or some time later.
Two things I remember about it:
1. You did not directly fight battles, instead it was auto resolved when you attacked or were attacked with your heroes.
2. I remember my uncle playing an evil looking skeleton hero from a clearly evil aligned faction.
I also remember that when I asked him what game it was, he told me to not bother because it was not very good.
I know it's scarce info but maybe someone will know.

Maybethe game isnt even retro, but I remember it being some kind of TD game where you fought against multiple waves of monster-like enemies. Pretty sure you could see their health bar over their heads. It was on PC.
I faintly remember there being some kind of "ice cave" level, but I might totally be wrong. Thinking about it really makes me wonder if it was real or just one of these dreams you vividly remember as happening. Thanks in advance!

There might have been voice acting, and there definitely was a French translation.

A top-down RTS/turn-based strategy PC game which looked alot like Jagged Alliance. It had aliens as enemies and the characters used blasters as weapons. One of the characters you could control was a robot/droid. When one of your characters would die their portrait would be greyed out and a "RIP" icon would cover their portrait. It probably came out during the 90s.

This was an arcade game, it had early 3D graphics (or at least at the time felt early), I can't remember for the life of me if it was light gun or space shooter (i'm leaning towards light gun).

Trying to remember this one arcade game.
Mostly just remember the demo cinematic.
Guy is running from something in the night, while it's storming.
Can't remember what was running after him exactly but it was some sort of monster.
At some point his back is against a wall and a scratch mark pops up and he screams.
It was an old game, 2D, may have been a sidescroller, also remembering demo footage of a car driving and monsters chasing it.
Likely late 90's in origin.

2D roguelike PC game I played around 10 years ago. You have a team of up to 6 characters, picking their race/class freely (had vampire, troll, dwarf, human, orc, possibly others), picking their stats as well as being able to set starting gold. The actual races or classes didn't affect the game.
You could choose to play levels in order, they're all only 1 screen of enemies. I remember the first level being in a garden or a field of some sort, possibly outside of a castle and first enemies probably being slimes. The last level was in a dungeon where you face the final boss which is a demon or a dragon.
After finishing each level, you get some gold and are moved to a screen where you can manage your character inventory, and buy and sell weapons, items and spells as well as select the next level you want to play.
All characters and enemies are in a single square, and they all move and attack in turn order. Your movement is determined by a stat, agility perhaps, for each 10 of those you can move 1 extra square (all stats are limited to 100 afaik, they can go over this limit if you use certain items/weapons).
There was a level editor, but you couldn't do much with it other than changing enemies.

I'm looking for an old 2D game I used to play like 10+ years ago on PC. Each level was a screen (didn't move to sides or up and down) that had like floors with gaps and possibly doors in walls (kind of looked like a steel construction). The point of it was to get a bunch of these small purple (if I remember correctly) droplets/blobs of slime with tiny faces through these gaps and stuff to the destined spot. There were also teleports that teleported the droplets around the screen, and buttons on the floors the droplets had to slide over to open certain parts of the level.

I've tried to google any possible words that come to my mind about this game, but didn't find a single thing. Sometimes I feel like the game didn't even exist, but my older sister remembers playing it, too, but neither of us can remember the name of it for the life of us. I'll be grateful for any ideas.

Was either a late 90's or early 2000's PC game about the American Civil War, it may have been a History Channel game but I don't know how long the History Channel has been making games so maybe not.

It was at least semi-educational, each mission had an in-depth run-down on each battle you played, but the main game was a Doom clone sort of thing, graphics and all, you could play either Union or Confederacy missions, there may have been other game modes aside from the FPS sections but I don't remember.

Some missions would have sections where you could man a Gatling gun and mow down a bunch of enemies, that's really the only aspect that I remember in any real detail, I think both the Union and Confederate campaigns were on separate disks too.

It was fantasy dragon stuff. I remember when inside a building it would be the perspective would be like a beat em up. I remember being in a house with a giant anthropomorphic dragon that gave me directions to find its sibling, I think.

The world outside was at like a 3/4 pesrspective, and you can move towards the horizon. There was a party of like four. I know they had stats and equipment, but I couldn’t make sense of it. Combat was real time. I remember getting to a big monster that dominated the horizon, and it killed my whole party.
