Serious question. What makes you like a retro eceleb?

I don't actually like most of them. I think first for me is camera/sound/editing quality. Second is their character/persona. Third is their content and consistency.

I honestly hate overly annoying AMPED UP! people. But I also don't like negative wet sacks of potatoes either. A good editing and camera/sound setup does a ton for me. I only watch 5-10 videos a month but I try and go for those with ultra high quality and consistency

I would love to see a fairly dry, but extremely well-researched, youtube show that focused on history and context of retro games and gaming as a whole. It would only involve the host talking to the camera at the start/end of the episode, or not at all.

I am sick to fucking death of YT randos playing old games and intentionally misunderstanding them just so they can say some dumb edgy shit and crack jokes. It was old after Seanbaby did it.

I have a love/hate relationship to like Game Sack.

I like how the go straight to the subject and literally just show games.
But I hate the parts where they actually talk, they look super awkward in front of the camera (one is too old for technology and the other drools more than he should for parallax scrolling) and their opinion is too shitty at times (I don't like Fire Emblem because I have to actually think) but is a good source of games to play for different consoles.

Boundary break has cool videos, guy fucks around with the game's data and shows how the game is designed from a "backstage" sort of perspective, using a free camera to show all different assets, etc.
A lot of his stuff is not retro since it's mostly 3D games, but he covers a bunch of 5th gen stuff and some older 2D titles as well.
I also like the comparision channels (I think one is called VCD, or something, and the other is Retro Core).
