Yeah, there's definitely the possibility for that if it's not introduced right.
I was thinking something like it's located on top of the wagon in the middle of the map and takes a bit to get up there, leaving you vulnerable to getting shot by everyone on your way up. And it isn't located on every level. And only has six or maybe 4 shots in the gun.
Do you think that increasing the time between shots on the shotgun, so that's actually slightly slower than the pistols, would prevent the shotgun from being OP?

Hopefully levels designed for the mod will actually slow down the gameplay a bit, at least when compared to the "spawn, move forward, turn around and shoot the guy that spawns behind you before he shoots you" gameplay it can get to be, or the "spawn, shoot the guy that spawned next to you" gameplay it can get to on LMS.
When we were playing on that quake-style map with 8 people and you had to look for a short while (maybe 30 seconds) for someone is the pacing I'd like to recreate with the DM maps.
