Does anyone else primarily use their Wii for retro games? I can't stand emulator lag from vsync or the judder from no vsync so I just stick to a Wii and CRT for 240p goodness. I'm too poor for real consoles and flashcarts.

The only retro games I play regularly on my Wii are the Nintendo 64 Virtual Console games. They have the unique advantage of being rendered at native 640x480p instead of the original 320x240p, and don't have the Nintendo 64's hardware or software blur either. The result is a massive increase in clarity and higher resolution 3D models.

It also means I don't need to switch my Wii back and forth between 480p and 480i. I play N64, WiiWare, GameCube and Wii all on 480p.

Original hardware for all the other retro platforms, including N64. My other VC games like SNES and Genesis I'll just play at 480p, since I want to see them without scanlines (I have my original hardware for that), and it means I don't have to switch my Wii to 480i and fiddle with the force 240p button combination.

Wii virtual console does do vsync.
