I've been thinking about replaying FF7 for the nth time. Is there anything I should do to spice it up this time? I was thinking of naming everyone Sephiroth for one. Suggestions?

I always did this. Anything less than max speed is painstakingly slow.

Try designating each character with a Materia type. So, Cloud can only use Magic, Tifa can only use Summons, etc.

Try beating the Midgar Zolom instead of crossing the swamp with a chocobo.

As soon as you can Steal, try using only items to win battles. (Grenades or whatever)

Try using only Enemy Skills to win battles.

Have one character who can only use Enemy Skills. The other two can only use items or magic on the Enemy Skills character. BUT all characters can use Limit Breaks. To make that interesting, use Hyper/Tranquilizers on all your characters.

Go the whole game using Hyper/Tranquilizers on your party.

Not many self-imposed challenges to do other than Materia restrictions.

I sort of wanted to replay the game also for the nth time, but instead pasted the game's script into a Word doc and wrote Beavis & Butt-Head into the game's cast. I find that this spices up the game.

When you replay games tons of times, it's always fun to try challenge runs.

So for FFVII, you could do a no materia run, maybe limit every character to skills based upon classes, speed run, that kind of thing. Or just do materia combos you usually don"t try.

Or you could do what a coworker of mine did, and name every character after vampires. Guess who blackula was.

The French one was just as bad and is still remembered as a joke : literal translation, typos, a few sentences in English, or plain false indications (good luck breeding a gold Chocobo without a guide). Furthermore, translators seemed to have been given the -already dubious- English text without an ounce of context.

I have replayed FF7 about 10 + times.
But I have very selective memory so when I watch movies or play games, I often don't remember most or any of the dialogue. So I can replay stuff many times and enjoy it immensely.
