What stupid cunts make these? Have they never seen a TV before? “Yeah I remember what TVs looked like, fish eye lenses.”

t.hasn't seen a CRT in decades and doesn't remember what they look like

Let me guess, scanlines aren't visible on real CRTs, right?

A picture of a real CRT was there an hour before you posted, and yet you still couldn't see the problem. You even mention scanlines, which serve as a major hint to what's wrong in OP's image.

What do you think of this?
I think it really helps bring the game into the modern age, while keeping the classic feel

Howso. Apart from the retarded aspect ratio/curvature, op's pic looks like a sd crt running via RGB.

Although the bulging is a little exaggerated, it looks almost exactly like this on my CRT.

For me it's more like

>takes signifcantly longer to download
>spend some more time converting it to 44.1Khz/16bit to not waste storage space

The curved edges don't distort the image like the shader in >>4641080 does, they're basically just an opaque frame obscuring the extremities of the image, like how some games/shows have a letterbox effect.
Done right, some people might appreciate it, but it's objectively silly as CRT's have flatscreens too.

>> No.4645880

>>4641706
Huh? I use a CRT with component input for retro gaming. Scan lines and screen curvature are clear as day. Go take a look at CRT general. Nobody cares about a low resolution image of a nameless television set that appears to be displaying RF input.

>> No.4645885

>>4645753
Flat screen CRTs are a whole different thing that nobody cares about. Most shaders let you disable curvature if you want it to look like that.

You can compensate for screen curvature on a CRT television by messing using geometry settings, but the barrel distortion is always present. Anyone arguing otherwise is literally retarded.
