Not much into the console. The game I enjoy the most in it by far is F-Zero X.
Mischief Makers gets a special mention. Treasure games for that console in general were pretty worth it.

Yes, I should have included it too. Amazing game, one of the best of the entire 5th gen.

I picked up Jet Force Gemini the other day and played it for maybe 30 minutes.

Can you explain the hype? Because I'm not sure I'll be able to power through this fucking mess of a control system.

Go to the options menu and change the control scheme to "Expert", it'll make you be able to move in all directions using the C-buttons while you're aiming with R, vastly improves the gameplay.
If that doesn't make it for you and you're not enjoying splattering ant alien guys, then maybe it's not for you.

I did switch to expert and that did help.

I was actually impressed by how well the blue ant enemies moved, and I'm definitely going to sit down and dig into it more than my "make sure the cart works because this store has a 48 hour return policy" session.

Maybe it'll grow on me. Thanks, anon.

Oh wait, holy fuck, I didn't realize what you meant by moving with C-buttons while I aimed. I'm fucking retarded.

This is so much better, thank you anon.

Glad it helped. It's a really unique kind of third person shooter mixed with platforming, personally it's my favorite Rare game on the N64.
This video is also a good watch and helps understand the concept behind the game better

Well he simply could have called it strafing but I think it still was a pretty good description.
Never play JFG without it.

Also don't listen to >muh Tribals, it's by far not as annoying as it's said to be, especially because the levels are made out of sub-areas and when reentering one area the Tribals respawn so you can try as long as you need until you collected them all.
