Is the famicom everdrive n8 worth it? Or would I be better off with some multicarts?

>> No.4604376

I have one. It's great. Plays anything, including disk system, hacks and unlicensed games.

It's worth it. It's great.
FDS-exclusive sound channels don't sound right, though.

Other than this, it's great. Considering the price of some NES titles these days a flash cart is easily a great investment.

Would buying the ram adapter and fds stick allow a person to get the additional sound channels?

Yes, if you have a Famicom

what is this ram adapter and fds stick you speak of?

>> No.4604585

>>4604569
The RAM adapter is the black part of the FDS that sits in the famicom cart slot, minus the disk drive
The stick is a USB-compatible replacement for the disk drive

thinking about getting one of these soon

ah ok thanks. I was a little dissapointed with the n8 because of the fds audio. I'll have to check this out.

does the ram adapter itself need a power supply? sorry if this is a retarded question but i was looking these up and the japanese seller says "Not including the power supply". Not sure if he just meant for the disk drive itself or what. I dont know anything about the disk system.

Just the disk drive needs its own power supply. It can also run on batteries.
